Health Benefits of Beetroot- Eat beetroot, stay healthy!

 Beetroot contains 88% water, 1.6 grams of protein, 6.8 grams of sugar, and 2.8 grams of fiber. Beet (beetroot) is a root vegetable also known as red beet, table beet, garden beet, or simply beet. Packed with essential nutrients, beets are an excellent source of fiber, folate (vitamin B9), manganese, potassium, iron, and vitamin C. Beetroot and beetroot juice are a source of numerous health benefits, including treating anemia, improving blood flow, lowering blood pressure and increasing exercise performance. Many of these benefits are due to the high inorganic nitrate content in beets. Beetroot is best eaten raw but can also be eaten cooked with leaves. There are many varieties of beets, most of which are distinguished by their color, yellow, white, pink, or deep purple.

1. Beetroot consists mainly of water (87%), carbohydrates (8%), and fiber (23%).

2. Raw or cooked beets provide about 8-10% carbohydrates.

3. Beets are high in fiber, with every 3/4 cup (100 grams) of beets providing about 2-3 grams of fiber.

1. Folate (vitamin B9). One of the B vitamins, folate is important for normal tissue growth and cell function, especially for pregnant women.

2. Manganese. An essential trace element, manganese is found in high amounts in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

3. Potassium. High intake of potassium leads to lower blood pressure levels and positive effects on heart health.

4. Iron. Iron has many important functions in your body. It is essential for the transport of oxygen in red blood cells.
