TikTok banned on UK government devices after US!

Following America, "Tik Tok" was outlawed in Great Britain as well. On certified smartphones, Chinese apps cannot be used. A ban on the Chinese app "TikTok" on smartphones used in government buildings has been issued by Britain owing to security reasons. Secretary of State and Minister for Cyber Security Oliver Dowden warned Parliament that "we will immediately prevent government agencies from using TikTok". According to him, it is wise and appropriate to limit the use of specific applications, especially those that access and retain huge amounts of data, given the specific hazards connected with government equipment that may contain sensitive information.

According to Oliver Dowden, our strategy is in line with the sanctions put in place by the US, Canada, and the EU. China asked the US on Wednesday to stop its "unprovoked attacks" on TikTok. To avoid a ban based on national security, Washington had demanded that the Chinese parent company Byte Dance sell its ownership in the program. It should be mentioned that TikTok's detractors claim that the Chinese government has access to the data of users all over the world, despite claims to the contrary made by critics of the app, which is particularly popular among young people and is used to share short videos.
